The Pressure

Every couple feels the pressure of getting everything "right" on their wedding day. You only get one shot at this, and you want everything to feel just the way you've imagined this day a million times. That's where we come in! We can't predict the weather, or if your officiant shows up on time, but what we can offer you is over 10 years of experience photographing beautiful couples just like you! From schedule changes to rainy days we've encountered all the different scenarios and know how to handle each one. So you can feel confidant entrusting us to get beautiful images of your wedding day that you will treasure for a lifetime.

Hi, I'm JJ!


What makes me a great photographer is my ability to pose people comfortably, make them laugh, and most importantly make them look really, really good on camera! I love interacting with my couples and getting to know them. When I arrive on the wedding day I want you to feel like your old friend just showed up. If you trust me I can pretty much talk you into anything, and I love having that power (insert evil laugh). Seriously though, on the day of the wedding you'll trust that I am able to get amazing photos which will allow you to relax and be truly in the moment, which is my biggest hope for all of my couples.

The Stoners...

Lynn is my husband , second shooter, and high school sweetheart...

We've been dating since I was 16 and have now been married for 16 years!

We have 5 precious kiddos including a set of twins...

He's a nerd. I'm a free spirit.

You know that you want great images, but what you may not realize is that you need a great experience with your photographer more than anything! That is exactly what we promise to give you. Over and over and over again, JJS Couples rave about their experience almost more than their images! Why? Because in order to get those natural, genuine portraits that truly capture who you are, you have to feel comfortable with the person taking them. The way you feel while you are having your portraits taken heavily influences how you feel when you see yourself in the final images. Creating comfortable, joyful and genuine client experiences is what we specialize in!

what is included in our wedding package...

We have structured our wedding experience very intentionally. Everything we offer and recommend is a strategic part of an overall experience that leads to what our JJS Couples ultimately desire: genuine, timeless and joyful images. Our most intentional aspects of our wedding experience include:

8 hour minimum

We have found that for a traditional wedding day, we need a minimum of 8 hours to capture the full story of your day with a stress-free timeline.

engagement session

We include an engagement session complimentary because this is our opportunity to get to know you and empower you to feel comfortable in front of the camera.



second photographer

Lynn is a non-negotiable part of our wedding experience! Groomsmen love his effortless ability to make everyone feel like an old friend. The JJS Photography experience wouldn't be complete without him!

FAQ

wHAT IS YOUR SHOOTING STYLE?


We love being both interactive and discrete throughout the wedding day. There will be parts of the wedding day when I will need to be in control in order to accomplish everything that needs to be done in order to keep everyone on schedule. There will also be moments when you shouldn’t even know that I’m there. (The ceremony, during dances and toasts, etc.) We practice how to pose and interact during your engagement session so you are naturals on your wedding day!

eNGAGEMENT tRAVEL?


We are more than willing to travel for engagement sessions! We actually love it when our couples ask us to photograph them in a location that means something special to them! We book engagement sessions about 1-2 months in advance and include up to 2 hours of travel from Lancaster County, PA.

hOW MANY IMAGES CAN I EXPECT?


We average 75-100 final images per hour that we’re actively shooting throughout the day. This estimate is normally on the lower side since we tend to be over-shooters. We love delivering our client’s files easily via an online gallery. The engagement gallery normally takes 3 weeks to deliver, and the full wedding gallery takes about 6 weeks. You will have the ability to print, share and download your images as much as you want. We believe in freely sharing our work because that is what we would want if we were in your shoes!

FAQ

what is your editing style?


We are definitely considered light and airy photographers! I love bright pictures with slightly warm tones, "happy" colors and neutral greens. I like pictures that feel joyful, fun, and soft.

how do you pose people?


We like to say that we give as much direction as you need to feel comfortable. Instead of saying things like "look cute," or "do something silly" which can leave you feeling awkward and unsure of what to do, we will give you direction on where to place your hands, how close to get to each other, when to look at the camera, when to look at each other, etc. We also love to do "action" poses so we can get authentic interactions between the two of you. This includes staring contests, try not to laugh contests, and our favorite which is twirling pictures.

how much of a deposit do you require?


We usually do 50% due at the time of signing the contract and the remainder is due a week before the wedding. We can create a custom payment plan for you if you need smaller, more frequent payments. Just let us know what will work best for you!
